Dear Etta James,

I saw you emotionally move every human being while you performed at the Playboy Jazz Festival at the Hollywood Bowl to a setting sun. You gave us your recordings and your interpretations as well for the thousands, millions, even billions who did not get to see you perform in person. Get well. I hope to speak with you again as we both smile.

The 2012 Grammy Hall of Fame

This year’s Grammy Hall of Fame recording inductees list has just been announced, and I am happy to hear that I Started Out as a Child will be amongst the first 906 recordings showcased!



We initially released the album in November of 1964 on the Warner Brothers label. With tracks like Sneakers, Christmas Time, & Rigor Mortis... I still smile when I think about the laughs this album produced!

There's an email floating around - entitled "I'm 76 and tired" - purportedly sent by me. I did not write the email, I did not send the email, I'm not 76, and I don't subscribe to the ugly views expressed in the email. We are coming up to an important anniversary on Sunday, which is a day when we should all come together. Whoever wrote this email is not thinking about our country, or what is important. If you get the email, it's time to hit DELETE.

Drive Times to my OC Fair Appearance

This is Bill Cosby and I am appearing at the OC Fair on Saturday, August 6 at 8:15 PM. I’m gonna walk out, sit down, talk and make your face hurt with laughter and smiles. Bring anybody you want.

Here are the following drive times, but you know the 405:
Orange County approx. 10 minutes
Los Angles approx. 49 minutes
Long Beach approx. 26 minutes
Riverside approx. 46 minutes
San Diego approx. 1 hour 27 minutes

Plus I’m throwing in San Francisco, approx. 7 hours 5 minutes. Just in case you are reading this, but stay off the 405.

Those using side streets can sleep in, but be in your seats by 8:15 PM, because here I come.

Hello Costa Mesa

Hello Costa Mesa and potential fair patrons. People, it is time to stop fooling around and get your tickets to my 8:15 PM show at the OC Fair on Saturday, August 6.

If you can’t make the show, buy tickets for someone you know and then they can tell you what you missed.

I feel like a performer who keeps saying, "Is it time yet?" and hearing, "Not yet."

I want you in those seats at 8:15 PM and ready for me to hurt your face with laughter and smiles.

I can’t wait! Come on people!
